About Maidstone
Maidstone is located on the river Medway, approximately 32 miles (58 minutes drive time) from central London. Maidstone is the county town of Kent. It is thought the town adopted it’s modern name at the start of the 17th century but there has been a settlement in the area since before the stone age, according to Wikipedia it is thought the name: Maidstone, derives from stones that were set into the river Medway to allow clothes to be rinsed in the cleaner water away from the banks.
The town is represented by conservative politician, Helen Grant.
