Two crew and a van for the jobs a full removal would overserve. In the Medway towns and along the coast this is the majority of what gets asked for, because the housing is denser, the tenancies are shorter and a lot of what moves is one room rather than one household.
If you have a farmhouse with four bedrooms and a barn, this is not the service, and we will say so instead of quoting it.

The Medway towns, first. Gillingham, Chatham and Rochester have a dense rental market and a lot of shared housing, which produces a steady flow of single-room moves and part-loads. The terraced streets mean the van is rarely outside the door, so the carrying distance is the job.
Then the coast. Folkestone, Margate and Ramsgate have seen a lot of movement in and out over the last decade, much of it people arriving with less than a household. A flat's worth of furniture up three floors is a very ordinary booking here.
And students and staff around Canterbury, where the pattern is seasonal and the loads are small but the deadlines are firm.
Where it is the wrong call
Anywhere rural with a real household in it. People book man and van for a Weald cottage to save money and pay for three runs and a very long day instead. At survey we will put you on the right service rather than the one you asked for.
Also where access is genuinely hard at both ends and there is volume. Two people being optimistic is not a plan for a four-storey seafront house.

On a full removal the vehicle stands for hours and the parking gets arranged properly. On a man-and-van job the entire value is speed, so where we can stop determines what it costs you.
In the Medway terraces and the coastal old towns, that can mean carrying from a street away. In Ashford or on a newer Maidstone estate there is a drive and it is a non-issue. We know which is which, but only if you tell us the road rather than the postcode.

A sofa from Tonbridge to Whitstable, a piano that needs proper handling, a collection from a unit on the Medway estates — all ordinary jobs. Kent is long, so for a single item travelling the length of the county it is sometimes cheaper to put it on a run we are already making. Ask.

- Yes. A job quoted for one that needs two goes badly for everybody. If your load genuinely is a few boxes, say so and we will scale it.
- Can you come at short notice?
- Often midweek. Fridays and month-ends are hardest. Ask and we will tell you what we actually have.
- Do you take single items the length of the county?
- Yes, and it is worth asking whether it can join a run we are already making — Kent is long enough that this genuinely saves money.
- Can you clear rubbish too?
- A drop at a charity shop or recycling centre, yes. Licensed waste clearance needs a waste carrier and we will tell you when that is what you actually need.
- Do I need to help?
- No. The job is quoted on us doing the work.
