Business and office moves in Kent
Commercial work across the county: town-centre offices in Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells, industrial units on the Medway and Thames-side estates, and retail stock in the coastal towns. A business move is scheduled around a lease and a building, which changes almost everything about how it is planned.
The good and bad news: industrial estate access is excellent, town-centre office access in Kent is often worse than people assume.
What a commercial move involves
Estates are easy, town centres are not
The industrial estates on the Medway and along the Thames-side corridor are built for lorries. Physical access is rarely the issue there; the constraints are contractual — site hours, security, the lease handover date, and the condition sign-off.
Town-centre offices in Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells and Canterbury are the harder case, and frequently harder than clients expect: older buildings, small or no goods lift, restricted streets, and loading windows that are short and enforced.
We survey those questions before quoting. Quoting a Kent office move from a floor area alone is meaningless.
Keeping the business trading
Most commercial moves here run Friday evening into a weekend so that Monday works, and that only holds if the destination is genuinely ready — floor plan agreed, positions marked, power and data where they should be.
Where the new space is not ready, the honest answer is to move in stages or hold part of it rather than deliver into a building site and shuffle it twice. We say that at survey rather than afterwards.
Records, stock and confidentiality
Client files, HR records and anything carrying personal data move on a numbered, listed basis so there is an auditable record of what went where. For many businesses that is the part that matters most.
Retail and warehouse stock is handled the same way, with a list that lets you reconcile afterwards rather than trust.
What we do not do
We do not reconnect servers, configure networks or certify electrical work. We carry, place and protect; your IT and facilities people do the rest. Firms that claim all of it are usually vague about what they are actually insured for.
And we will not promise a Monday start in a building we have not surveyed.

Questions about business and office moves
- Can you move us at the weekend?
- Yes, where the building and the lease allow — established at the building survey, which comes before the quote.
- Do you provide crates?
- Reusable crates delivered ahead and collected afterwards. Faster than cartons and no cardboard to dispose of.
- Who packs the desks?
- Usually staff pack their own crate, which works if they get them early. We can pack instead — a line on the quote either way.
- Will you handle IT?
- We disconnect, carry and place. Reconnection and configuration stay with your IT provider, and we are explicit about that boundary.
- Can you store furniture we are not taking?
- Yes, on the same listed basis, while you decide whether to sell or dispose of it.
